Your choices, explained
Privacy at Keyline.
Last updated 11 October 2026
This notice explains how Keyline handles information in the iPhone app, keyboard extension and keylinekeyboard.com. You can use the keyboard without creating an account.
Your keyboard, on your device
Typing, swipe recognition, autocorrect and word suggestions run on your device. Keyline uses nearby text to offer suggestions. Local learning starts on. It keeps learned words and short word patterns with usage counts. Keyboard preferences are also stored locally.
You can turn local learning off or clear this device’s learned suggestions in Keyline’s settings. Turning it off stops learning and use of personalized suggestions, but keeps saved counts. Local learning and cloud sharing are separate choices: if you leave cloud sharing enabled, previously saved counts can still be uploaded.
Your optional account
Supabase provides Keyline’s account authentication and cloud database. Email signup sends your email address and password to that service to create and authenticate your account. The app keeps sign-in session credentials in the iPhone Keychain, and remembers a pending signup email on your device. It does not save the password or verification code you enter.
If you choose Sign in with Google, Google and Supabase process basic identity information: your Google account identifier, email address and available profile name and picture. Keyline uses that identity to sign you in and associate your settings with your account. It requests only basic identity permissions. Your Google password is entered with Google. Authentication tokens are used to establish your Keyline session.
What you choose to sync
Cross-device sync is still being prepared for release. When device sync is available in your build, it starts off. After signing in, you can choose to enable it to sync keyboard preferences. The sharing choices below apply when those features are available. Each installation has a randomly generated identifier so its updates can be kept separate. Synced records also contain your account identifier and update timestamps.
- Personal suggestions: sharing is off by default. If you enable it, Keyline uploads learned words, short word patterns and their counts, including learning already saved on your device, to improve suggestions across your devices. These fragments can reveal personal vocabulary. The cloud data is a vocabulary and phrase-count model.
- Activity: sharing is off by default. When you enable it and give the keyboard Full Access, Keyline records daily totals for words typed, autocorrections, accepted word suggestions and emoji use. Device sync can upload those counts. These totals do not include the text of your messages. Activity email preferences are a separate choice.
GIFs and service providers
Opening online GIFs can load trending results from GIPHY. Searching sends the search terms you enter to GIPHY, and viewing or selecting GIFs downloads their images. Those requests expose connection information, such as your IP address, to GIPHY. Copying a GIF puts its image data on your device’s clipboard. An account is not required to use GIF search. iOS Full Access is needed for the keyboard’s network and GIF-copy features.
Mailgun delivers account emails, including confirmation codes and password-reset links. Cloudflare hosts this website and routes messages sent to our support address to a Microsoft 365 inbox. Supabase, Mailgun, Cloudflare and Microsoft process information needed to operate these features; their infrastructure may keep delivery, access and security records, including IP addresses and timestamps.
This website and your emails
The confirmation page uses a temporary security cookie and a confirmation token to verify your email after you press its button. The password-reset page holds its link temporarily in browser memory and continues to Supabase only when you press Reset password, so Keyline can open on the iPhone that requested the reset. These pages do not store a signed-in account session in your browser. Keyline’s website has no advertising trackers or session-recording scripts, and tracking of opens and clicks is disabled for account emails.
If you contact support@keylinekeyboard.com, your email address and the contents you send are used to respond and investigate your request. Please do not send passwords or verification codes.
Clearing data and leaving
Turning off device sync pauses transfers; it does not by itself erase information already stored. The cloud learning reset disables suggestion sharing and clears the learned suggestions stored with your account. Your devices retain their own local learning, so clear each device too if you want to remove that learning. Enabling sharing again can upload local counts that remain.
Deleting your Keyline account removes the account and its active cloud settings, learning and activity records. Local keyboard data is managed separately through the keyboard’s settings. Some information may remain in service-provider logs or backups according to those providers’ retention practices.
